This 24" ASR well was initially tested with drinking water from the adjacent water treatment plant and has been retrofitted to recharge and recover partially treated surface water from Clear Lake at rates of 8 MGD (30 Ml/d). Storage zone is a brackish limestone artesian aquifer at a depth exceeding 1,000 ft (300 m).
