part of a 20-year program to return the Everglades, a biosphere reserve
of global importance, Florida plans construction of over 320 ASR wells with
a combined capacity exceeding 1.7 BGO (6.5 BI/d), storing fresh water in
a deep brackish aquifer during seasonal floods, for recovery during drought
periods to sustain delivery of adequate high quality water to the Everglades.
